CATCHING UP WITH DEPECHE AI
đž A few months back, I did a big âthingâ about how AI wasnât thinking, that shortcutting your writing by leveraging things like ChatGPT was shortcutting your own thinking. And I still think that. But. Unless youâre going to go all Unabomber and live in a cabin in the woods, you need to know how to use the tsunami of tools and ideas coming out. So letâs talk about AI a bit.
First, staying up-to-date with the new tools isnât easy at ALL. So I highly recommend you subscribe to SuperHuman. Every day, they will send you the news around what new tech is coming, but if youâre like me, youâll skip past all that and jump to the âfive toolsâ section. Seeing AI at work is the best way for me to see the different kinds of use cases and solution sets AI is considering. There are other super-technical newsletters out there, but SuperHuman is my go-to.
If you prefer feeling overwhelmed, hereâs a directory of hundreds of AI-based tools to look at.
For me, after ChatGPT, the space that is being rocked by AI is video creation. Ignore the âlook at the music video that some coder made from scratch!â stuff. Think workflow. Iâm using Opus to take existing videos (podcasts, interviews, presentations, etc) and let the AI âfindâ the best bits and turn it into social clips in a few minutes. If I point it to a single 15-minute YouTube video, it will recommend up to 20 different clips I can text edit and download. Imagine making a nice pretty video and getting dozens of social stingers for various audiences in an hour. Unreal.
Hereâs a good conversation with the product leader at Riverside.fm (how I record all my podcasts, webinars and AMAs) and how they are seeing AI changing how we build and consume video.
Finally, can you use ChatGPT to turn a mountain of employee feedback and turn it into actionable insights. Um⊠yep. Louis Grenier (of Stand the F*ck Out) has a slick tool called F*ckin Fast Buyer Insights. I mean, you probably already have all that employee engagement survey data sitting around doing nothing, right? Turn it into useful info.
