📋 I had a really interesting conversation this week that is shifting how I think about recruiting content. Which might be why this article caught my eye. We’re trapped on a hamster wheel of content creation, ginning up stories because we think we have to. What if we stopped thinking in terms of “how do I build enough content” and started to think, “what does my audience really want to see?”
📋 Generating big ideas sometimes starts by thinking small.
📋 Universum generally caters to larger multinational firms, so take that into account when you see this preview of their 2023 talent outlook survey. My one-line summary: Tactics and buzzwords don’t cut it anymore. You need to engage talent to drive value.
📋 I love it when the marketing team realizes that they work at a company filled with actual people, ones who can promote the company and the brand.
📋 Yes, your strategy does need a better story.
📋 My friend Brad Farris sent me this and it immediately made me laugh/cry. It may be talking about marketing automation, but I suspect it will hit TA/EBers just as strongly.
📋 Another article about how important it is to include “culture” in job descriptions that 1: should be talking about job postings instead of job descriptions, 2: doesn’t define what they mean by “culture” 3: treats “culture, mission and values” as pixie dust that magically makes everything better.
And don’t forget: all 1,800+ links this newsletter has shared are backed up and searchable on my RainDrop page.
